Transgender Day of Remembrance
20 Nov 201

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance.  This year it's on Monday 20 November and honours the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence, be it direct or activity such as hate and bullying. Also, to raise attention of the continued violence endured by the transgender community.

The  Island  will be marking this day; Isle of Wight Pride, along with community groups and partners.

The day will start with raising the transgender flag at County Hall, and in the evening a candle lit vigil will be held, when there will  be time to reflect and remember those across the world who have lost their lives this year.

The evening will start at the Riverside Centre in Newport at 7pm, moving to County Hall for the vigil under the flag, and then to return to the Riverside for some networking and socialising.
