Letting it out of the can!

Following the announcement of the £25.7million funding for St Mary's Hospital, the four year plan of work on the hospital site including exciting new facilities is being outlined tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 January 1999 at a breakfast briefing meeting being held at 8.30 a.m. in the hospital Conference Room.

The meeting will outline the timetable of work, the effects on patients and services and the benefits that will be gained not only for the hospital but for the health care services on the island. In addition, as part of a broad communication strategy, the Trust will launch a St Mary's Hospital information video explaining the problems the hospital has faced and outlining the timetables and benefits of the new Estates Development Programme.

The breakfast briefing will be led by Allan Munds, Chairman of the Trust, with Graham Elderfield, Chief Executive, describing the funding and the arrangements for implementing the Estate Development Programme. Roger Manison, Project Director for the Remedial Work and the new Programme, will take the opportunity to detail the technical aspects of this very complex and challenging project which includes the recladding of the entire hospital whilst maintaining business as usual.

The Management Contractor has been appointed and will be formally signing their contact with the Trust at the breakfast briefing.
