New Day Procedures Unit is taking shape. Construction of the new Day Procedures Unit at St. Mary’s is well underway, on time and within budget! Good progress is being made on the external shell. The steel framework is in place and the roof and insulation is complete. The external and internal walls are now rising rapidly from the ground. As a key part in the Estate Development Programme, the 2.2 million-pound Day Procedures Unit, due for completion in summer 2000 will contain two operating suites with recovery facilities and reception areas. There will also be administration and office facilities for day theatre staff. These facilities will be some of the most advanced in the UK and will ensure that St. Mary’s meets the needs of patients on the Island for many years to come.
