Hospital cleans up
|
As part of the nationwide clean-up campaign of every hospital in the country, patients and visitors to St Mary’s Hospital will be noticing improvements not just in the cleanliness of wards but also replacement furniture and better signposting. Following the announcement of the NHS Plan, the Trust was allocated a one off payment of £100,000 to raise and maintain cleanliness standards and immediately set in motion a number of initiatives to ensure this funding really made a difference to patients. Monitoring controls will be put in place to ensure cleanliness standards are raised and maintained; a furniture replacement/refurbishment programme will be instigated and the stock of pillows and linen increased. Mark Price, deputy Chief Executive, who is leading this project, said “Never before have we been allocated funding so quickly and we are delighted to be able to use it to improve the hospital environment for patients and visitors alike.”
