Patients Have Their Say

850 patients who have recently used Mental Health services on the Island will have the opportunity to feedback their views on the care they have received through a questionnaire which is being sent out.

The survey, which is part of a national programme led by the Healthcare Commission (CHAI), is being carried out by all NHS Trusts and is part of the commitment set out in the NHS Plan, to design a health service around the needs of those who use it.

Patients will be asked about various aspects of their experiences including their care and treatment, relationships with health professionals, medications, their care plan, support in the community and crisis care.

The results of the survey will help highlight areas in Mental Health that are performing well and identify areas where there is room for improvement.

The results of the survey will be available later this year and forms part of the Trust’s star ratings, which are announced each year.
