Health Services on the Island are provided by NHS Isle of Wight.

Services provided by NHS Isle of Wight include:

• Ambulance Service
• Dentists
• GPs, including the Beacon Health Centre
• Hospital care, mainly provided at St Mary's Hospital
• Medicines Management
• Opticians
• Pharmacies
• Sexual Health Services and First Contraception

Community care is also provided by NHS Isle of Wight and includes; District Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Wheelchair Services, Asthma and Allergy Care, Physiotherapy, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Dietetics, Speech & Language Therapy, Sexual Health and Podiatry.

Private Healthcare on the Island is provided by The Mottistone.

The NHS 111 service is available via the easy to remember, threedigit number – 111. Calls from landlines and mobile phones are free and the service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to people’s healthcare needs, when:

• you need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency;
• you don’t know who to call for medical help or you don’t have a GP to call;
• you think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service; or
• you require health information or reassurance about what to do next.
