What is it? Our Charitable Fund (registered number 1049606) manages donations to the NHS on the Isle of Wight. The Fund is monitored and administered by the Corporate Trustee (the PCT Board) who ensure compliance with regulations set by the Charity Commission (www.charity-commission.gov.uk). All income and expenditure is administered and applied appropriately in accordance with the donors’ wishes and in a way which makes the maximum contribution to enhancing both patient and staff welfare and amenities. We work closely with the Friends of St. Mary’s who also welcome donations which are used to benefit patients and staff. You can contact the Friends of St. Mary’s via their shop in the main entrance.

The Fund supports and enhances the work of NHS Isle of Wight by providing the ‘extras’ which are not automatically funded by the NHS. Items such as specialist equipment or additional items of equipment, furniture and pieces of artwork. These all help improve and sometimes directly enhance the environment for patients and staff. The Fund also supports staff education and training.
Any donation, large or small, is gratefully received and acknowledged. If you wish your donation to be used for a specific ward/department/service and used in a particular way, please specify on the form overleaf. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes. How can you donate? All donations are handled by the Cashiers Office at St. Mary’s Hospital. You can post your donation (cheque only, made payable to Isle of Wight NHS PCT Charitable Fund) together with the Donation Form to the following address: Cashiers Office All cash donations must be paid in person to the Cashiers Office, St. Mary’s Hospital. If you would like to arrange a bank transfer, the Cashiers staff can help you with this. Just Giving
If you are a taxpayer the value of your donation to the Fund can be increased by 20% by signing the Gift Aid declaration on the Donation Form. You must pay income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax reclaimed by the charity on your donation. Leaving a gift in your will to the Fund is an amazing way for your generosity to last beyond your own lifetime. We have received some very generous legacies which have either been used in accordance with a specific request or to support the work of the Island’s NHS to provide the ‘extras’ and enhancements to normal NHS care.
