Quality Care - everyone, everytime

Ward Visting Times

Visiting is restricted so that clinical teams can look after their patients, housekeepers can clean properly and so that patients can rest and have their meals in a calm environment.

Visiting is allowed on wards between 2:00pm – 3:00pm and 7:00pm – 8:00pm daily. There are some clinical areas, such as Intensive Care and the Children’s Ward, where there is a more flexible arrangement.

If a family would like to visit a patient outside the hospital visiting times they should discuss this with the Ward Sister or Nurse in charge.  In exceptional circumstances individual arrangements can be agreed.

If the hospital introduces visiting restrictions or stops visiting to a ward for inflection control reasons, this is done to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff and the visitors. If there are exceptional reasons an arrangement can be discussed and agreed with the Ward Sister

Visiting is restricted to no more than two at a time. Babies and young children should, if possible, not be brought into the hospital.
