Estates Strategy

Our Estates Strategy sets out how we will ensure it has a fit for purpose estate that enables delivery of our clinical strategy and the organisation’s wider five-year plan.

The scope of the strategy includes all the estate we use to support our services, whether or not buildings are in our ownership. This document follows the guidance recommended by NHS Estates in its publication “Developing an estate strategy”. It aims to describe in one document:

The condition and “performance” of our current estate
The service-led or estate-led reasons we need to make changes to the estate we use
A comprehensive estate investment programme covering our plans for:
- Rationalising the estate portfolio
- Upgrading and refurbishing existing buildings
- Reducing backlog maintenance
- Supporting delivery of service developments set out in the clinical strategy and integrated business plan.
