The Preceptorship course aims to support newly qualified nursing and allied health professionals undertaking their first registered role with the IOW NHS Trust. Delegates (preceptees) will develop a structured professional portfolio evidencing how the learning opportunities and support that they have accessed as part of this important period in their career demonstrates the development of their practice in line with the Trusts visions, values and behaviours, to provide every patient with safe, evidence based care, every time.

Preceptees will attend a series of sessions provided by the Clinical Education Team (bookable via TMPro4-search ‘Preceptorship’) with subject specialist speakers .These activities will be provided on a rolling basis to support practitioners joining the Trust throughout the year.  Preceptees will also develop their own programme of training activities with the support of their line manager and named preceptor. Attendance at the sessions is mandatory once booked, and should be provided in the preceptees working hours, to demonstrate the Trust commitment to supporting and developing our staff.
