RCOT’s (2019) learning and development standards state:

Practice-based learning is normally full-time and placement hours may include a maximum of 3.5hours of self-directed learning relevant to practice-based learning per week.

The standards highlight the importance of flexible models of supervision including long arm supervision.

Students will be allocated a locality contact for the duration of their placement. Please ensure you ask your student these details on their first day if you haven’t already had contact from them. Any concerns during the placement should be directed to this contact.
