Clinical & Educational Supervisors
All Foundation Year 1 and 2 doctors will have a Clinical Supervisor, normally the Consultant on whose firm they are and is likely to change over the year as trainees move posts. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for carrying out the various assessments, e.g. Mini-CEX, DOPS, Learning Agreements etc. The Clinical Supervisor can give career appraisal, counselling, personal or general information. The Educational Supervisor oversees the training and education and is responsible for the trainee for the whole year, regardless of specialty.
Faculty Tutor
Each specialty has a consultant appointed by the appropriate Royal College with a special interest in developing teaching and training activities at a departmental level.
Foundation Programme Director
Medical Education Manager
In this Trust we like to feel that the Medical Education Centre welcomes the junior doctors in training and tries to help in any way possible. The Medical Education Manager (Allison Harries) is there to support medical education but is also happy to help with other aspects of your careers and has extensive knowledge of the workings of the NHS and also of the Isle of Wight. Please ask if you need any help whatsoever.
