Development and Training offer a selection of educational modules in the form of E-Learning. Since October 2006, this list of modules has gradually grown and these enable staff to complete short, on-line courses from any internet-linked computer. This can be in a ward setting, an office, the Oliveira library or even from the comfort of your own home.
What is E-Learning?
There are a multitude of definitions trying to answer this question, but in it's simplest terms it is learning that is accomplished electronically, usually with the aid of a computer and material delivered by either an Internet-hosted website or a CD-ROM.
Traditional methods of education will always continue, but E-learning is considered to offer an alternative form of teaching with an emphasis on flexibility. That is to say that the pupil can learn at his or her own pace and at a time that suits them.
This is the name of the system that has been chosen for use at St. Mary's Hospital and out in the community here on the Isle of Wight. Once you have been allocated a username and password by the Development & Training department, the active courses can be accessed and completed.
If you already have a username and password you can log in here
To obtain your username and password, please send an e-mail to email@example.com & we will ensure that your details are e-mailed to you as soon as possible - usually within 24 hours.
