Training & e-Learning

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is committed to the development and training of all its employees.  The Learning and Development Team co-ordinates internal and external training in response to the needs of the organisation, Department of Health requirements and the needs of its staff.

How to Book a Place on Internal Courses

All training should be agreed with your line manager, at your annual appraisal or as needs arise.  Please get in touch with the contact shown for that course or book through Pro4 on-line.

If for any reason you cannot attend a course on which you have reserved a place, please notify us as soon as possible by contacting There is often a waiting list for courses and your place may be offered to someone else.

ESR e-Learning

During 2017 – 2018, the Organisation will be gradually moving across from its current e-Learning platform Training Tracker to the NHS’s national ESR e-Learning system.

To access the ESR e-Learning system, you will need to log-in to your personal ESR Self-Service account using the credentials provided to you by the HR/Workforce team. You may have already accessed this system previously to check your online payslip or NHS pension details and your username is typically, for example, 470FBLOGGS01 or 296JBLOGGS01.

External courses

External training courses must have been agreed through the training needs analysis and identified for you at your appraisal. To access an external training course your mandatory training must be 100% (or booked to be so). Please complete a course application form (available from the provider) and an IOW NHS Trust green training form and send this to Development and Training, Education Centre at least 2 weeks before payment is due.

Please inform us by contacting as soon as possible if you are unable to attend any course.
