NICE Evidence - Search for guidelines and other material from NICE, government departments, professional bodies and major charities. Includes British National Formulary and UK Medicines Information. Please see the Helpsheet here
General Medical Databases
HDAS Healthcare Databases Advanced Search - Use to search multiple databases for journal articles, research papers and systematic reviews when in-depth primary evidence is required. Databases include Medline, Cinahl, Embase, PsychInfo. Results show full text links if available to Isle of Wight OpenAthens users. Health Research Premium Collection - The collection contains an extensive range of health and social care publications and evidence based resources.
Trip Database - Search multiple sources for a quick overview of journal and other literature on your selected topic. Filters on type of information, and can do simple and advanced searching. Create your own account to save searches and selected documents. Includes timeline of work to ease document re-discovery and contribute to CPD record.
Pubmed - The open access version of Medline - covers a wide range of healthcare journals (but not all). Does not link to full text.
Cochrane Library - Includes the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Cochrane Clinical Answers.
Publicly Available Content Database - Designed to complement other databases and collections, this database brings together or links to full text for publicly available content from a number of different sources from around the world.
SCIE Social Care database - Search for articles within selected journals with relevance to social care (will not usually give access to full text).
