Join the library

Accessing our services

Education Centre: We are located in the Education Centre if you wish to browse our collection, would like to make any face-to-face enquires, or require in-person support, and are able to supply library services and manage inter-library loans. 


Computers: The library computer room is now open!  It has moved across the corridor and is now to be found in the back-right-hand corner of the Education Centre.  Library staff will be available to support any IT issues you have during normal office hours. 

You can also use the Cyber Cafe near the Full Circle Restaurant - unfortunately there is no printing facility available.


Help and Assistance: The library staff work both virtually and at the library itself. Please pop in to the library, email us on iownt.library@nhs.net or message us on twitter @IOWNHSLibrary with your contact details and we will do our best to assist you.

To borrow our books you need to be a member. Sign up and get your SWIMS Library card - it’s free for NHS staff and students to join

Your SWIMS card is valid in over 50 NHS Libraries in the South West. 

Eligible users can complete a registration form, and return it to iownt.library@nhs.net to join the library.

Membership is open to Medical, Clinical, Health and Care Staff providing NHS services on the Isle of Wight.  Please click the link to see the full list of eligible staff.  **Please contact us if you would like to join but are not on the list.**
