About Us

There have been some significant changes to the NHS across England in the last few years which have resulted in a programme of work to transition organisations within the NHS. As part of this transition the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has emerged from the previous Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust, along with the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group. Providing acute, community, mental health and ambulance integrated services, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust is responsible for delivering health care services across a number of local sites to meet the needs of the Island population.

In ensuring a constant direction of travel, we are working towards achieving our vision to be an excellent and trusted provider of integrated patient focused services that are globally admired. This involves working to our guiding principle and delivering a number of corporate objectives. You can read about these in the Our Vision section.

To ensure we are upholding the values of using public money to deliver services, we have also revised our leadership structure for transparent and effective governance. You are able to learn more about the NHS Trust Board along with organisational structure and governance structures in this section.

As part of our journey towards Foundation Trust status we have been campaigning for local people to become members of the organisation and/or join the Council of Governors. As membership is so central to the accountability of the emerging organisation we have included a section dedicated to updating you about our progress in our Membership section.
