Check-in on your winter wellness at a community wellbeing clinic near you
09 January 2024

The Vaccination Hub at St Mary’s Hospital, in partnership with primary care, is coming to a community venue near you throughout January and will be offering winter vaccinations, advice and support to help you stay fit and well this winter.

The health and wellbeing clinics offer information and advice on winter wellness from COVID and flu vaccinations to blood pressure checks, healthy lifestyle choices and information on managing stress. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy a free hot drink, soup, and cake after your health conversation.

The NHS winter COVID-19 vaccination programme provides vital protection over winter, keeping people from developing serious illnesses, and helping to minimise hospitalisations during busy winter months. Members of the Social Prescribing/Health Coaching team will also be available to talk through any questions or concerns you may have and connect you to sources of support in the community.

Sue Lightfoot, Clinical Lead at St Mary’s Vaccination Hub, said: “We know there are some people who haven’t had their winter vaccinations, for one reason or another, and we want to make it as convenient as possible for them, so we’re pleased to be able to offer a walk-in service at St Mary’s Vaccination Hub for anyone over 16 and eligible, who still needs to have their first, second or COVID booster vaccinations or this year’s flu jab.

“If getting your vaccinations at a venue nearer to your home, or workplace, is more convenient then come and see us at the health and wellbeing clinics that are being held in community venues across the Island this month. We encourage people to check in on their health and wellbeing and drop in and see us for a chat. This will be the last chance to get your COVID & flu vaccinations this winter.”
