Comfort pebbles provide patients in hospitals with a hand-decorated pebble which includes a personal message from a family member, which can be kept with them and held during challenging times of being separated.
The pebbles are already decorated by artists across the country and varnished. The back of the pebble is left blank for handwritten messages of love and comfort from a family member; to remind patients that they are not alone.
If you would like to send a message to be put on a Comfort Pebble for patients in our hospitals please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org stating ‘Comfort Pebble’ in the subject line.
Messages need to be short so they can fit onto the back of a small pebble. Please provide the following information when contacting the service:
The message will be added to a pebble and given to the patient. People who don’t have access to e-mail can phone their message through to the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01983 534850 between 9.00am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
