Cycle to Work Scheme boost for Staff
06 August 2020

Today is Cycle to Work Day and what better time to announce that our Cycle to Work Scheme allowance for our staff has tripled from £1,000 to £3,000!

We spoke to Sally-Anne, one of our Ambulance Trainers, who signed up for the salary sacrifice scheme and has never looked back.

‘It has been an absolute lifeline, not only do I feel healthier and have more energy I can get to work in 17 minutes now.'

When you sign up to the scheme you can choose any adult bike along with accessories and clothing. It is open to all substantive employees and monthly payments are taken out each month from your salary.

‘It has meant that I could get a better bike and I saved around £400 by going through the scheme plus you can buy accessories and also get your bike serviced in the first 6 weeks.’

Our staff showers and locker area have also been newly refurbished and expanded so there really is no excuse! Why not dust off that lycra, or buy some new kit, and invest in a new bike?

‘I would say go for it, you beat the traffic and it is much more reliable, plus it incorporates exercise into your daily routine without you really having to think about it.’

You can also get involved with the cycling community as part of Cycle to Work Day. All you need to do is sign up to the Love to Ride online community through Facebook, Strava or by simply entering your details on the Love to Ride website
