We have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our Summer Fete due to take place on Saturday 23 July due to the potential fire risk caused by the recent heatwave.
You will have seen the devastation that has been caused by the fires over the past few days as a result of the heatwave. Our ground is extremely dry at St Mary’s Hospital and holding this type of event poses a significant fire hazard.
We know this is not welcome news and that members of the public and staff alike will be disappointed and we thank those who were involved and apologise to anyone who this may inconvenience. The welfare of our patients and staff is our priority.
We would also like to thank all of our staff for continuing to provide high quality care and working incredibly hard despite the challenging conditions with the heat and demand on our services.
