Service of remembrance for families

Service of remembrance for families
20 June 2019

Children’s Memorial Service Sunday 30th June 2019, 3pm at St. Mary’s Hospital, Parkhurst Road, Newport.

Parents and families are warmly invited to attend this year’s annual Children’s Memorial Service at St. Mary’s Hospital.

The service will take place on Sunday 30th June at 3pm alongside the hospital lake and is a service of remembrance for families who have lost a child.

The Island’s NHS Trust Chaplain, Reverend Janet Hallam, will lead prayers, readings and reflection.  Giant bubbles will be used to symbolize memories, thoughts and prayers directed heavenwards. Rev Hallam said “The service is for any parents, grandparents, families or friends whose baby or child has died.  This may be from birth or infancy through to the age of young adults.  Everyone is welcome to attend, whether it is the first year since bereavement or if you come year after year to gather and remember loved ones, we warmly welcome everyone. It is a real privilege for chaplaincy at St Mary’s to support people through this annual service.”

In the event of bad weather the service will be held in the Conference Room, Level B of the main hospital (opposite the Full Circle Restaurant).
