St. Mary’s Hospital Theatre FC vs Isle of Wight FC - Charity Football Match on New Year's Day

Staff at Isle of Wight NHS Trust are raising funds this New Year’s Day to support an Island family affected by cancer.

Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) Michelle Wright’s partner Steve is terminally ill with cancer. Michelle and Steve, who works on the Island for parcel delivery company UPS, have three young children.

The match between hospital theatre staff and a side of Isle of Wight all comers is being staged at St. George’s Park, Newport by kind permission of Newport IOW Football Club and the day starts at 12 mid-day. Kick off, weather permitting, will be 12:30.

All ages and abilities are welcome for this just for fun friendly match.   All proceeds from the day will go towards giving the family time away together and expenses for treatment in Southampton.

Supporters are welcome to join for an action packed afternoon of football fun. There will be a range of refreshments available, along with a raffle and auction for some amazing prizes and face painting.

A big thank you to Island businesses and organisations who have donated time, money and prizes including Newport IOW Football Club, IOW Tours, Doris Pinks, On the Rocks- Yarmouth, Little Joy Jewellery, Slab Fudge, Summer Lily's Florist, The Mill Bay, Isle of Wight Pearl, Garlic Farm, Wight Fit Gym, Skin Trade and others.
