The Patient Council are seeking new members
11 July 2019

The IOW NHS Trust is looking for new members to join the Patient Council.

The Patient Council was formed in 2005, taking over the role of the previous Patient Quality Group.

The Patient Council meets every 6 weeks at St Mary’s Hospital, to provide a patient perspective and to help address matters identified as important by patients. Members of the council assist in new initiatives, provide representation on various Trust committees and are involved in other pieces of work as agreed with the Trust to help improve the quality of services.

A Chairman and vice-chairman are elected every other year from the Patient Council Membership.

Pam Fenna has recently been elected to be the new chair of the Patient Council. Pam said “We currently have 6 spaces to fill to make the membership to 25. We are looking for enthusiastic people who would be willing to attend not only the patient council meeting but other committee meetings that may arise. Our aim is to try and raise the profile of the patient council and seek more opinions of the public that we can feedback to the Trust; we welcome anyone from the age of 18+ to apply and we look forward to recruiting new members”

If you are interested in applying to become a member of the Patient Council then please contact Jo Cram, Communications & Engagement on either 01983 822099 Ext 6184 or
