Quality Care - everyone, everytime
Views sought on quality priorities for 2018/19
22 February 2018

Each year Isle of Wight NHS Trust is required to produce a Quality Account which is a report about the quality of services offered by an NHS healthcare provider. The reports are published annually by each provider, and are available to the public on the Trust’s website at http://www.iow.nhs.uk/Publications/quality-account.htm and on the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk.

The Quality Account includes details of the annual Quality Priorities which are the key areas that the organisation will focus on in order to improve the quality of services we provide over the coming year.  This year, the Trust is developing a longer term Quality Strategy to help us make sustainable improvements across all the services we provide. We have identified the key areas that staff and patients have told us we need to improve and have broken them down under the headings of safety, experience and effectiveness.

We would be very grateful for your feedback in order to help us determine which of our Trust wide quality priorities for next year will feature in the Quality Account.  Each of the areas identified are very generic so that they can be adapted for all services within our diverse organisation.

Suzanne Rostron, Director of Quality Governance for Isle of Wight NHS Trust said: “Following feedback from our staff, patients and the CQC inspection we know that we have a range of areas in which rapid sustained improvement is required. Completing this survey will help us focus in on the areas of most importance to patients, carers and our partner organisations.”

The survey can be accessed at http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/IsleofWightNHSTrustQualityGoals2018_19/ and rank each priority in order of importance for each section (i.e. for safety, effectiveness and experience).
