Children In Care & Care Leavers

Children in Care Health Team

Recent changes to the Children in Care ( CiC)  health service provision mean we now only accommodate Initial Health Assessments, Review health Assessments and adoption medical requests from the IOW Local Authority and Mainland Local Authority for children in care placed on the IOW. Due to the service changes, we are unable to respond to requests for follow up support, including visits which involves direct work with the children and young people open to our service outside of the assessment process, and we can no longer offer Care Leaver support services

If you have any queries about these changes, please contact the ICB hiowicb-hsi.Hampshirelookedafterchildren@nhs.net or hiowicb-hsi.communications@nhs.net

The service delivers direct clinical contact, advice and support within the health assessment process to Children in Care, their Carers and Social Workers to address health issues unique to this group of Children and Young People. The team is part of the Integrated Safeguarding Team within the IOW NHS Trust

Our Children in Care (CiC) team consists of:

  • Designated Dr for CiC - Dr Sian Butterworth
  • Designated Nurse for CiC - Cynthia Condliffe
  • Named Nurse for CiC - Kim Cook
  • Named Doctor for CiC- Dr
