Ryde Health & Wellbeing Centre

A range of community services previously provided by the Trust at Ryde Outpatients Clinic and Swanmore House on Swanmore Road have relocated to the newly refurbished 'Ryde Health and Wellbeing Centre' building on Pellhurst Road. Those services include:

  • Podiatry
  • Physiotherapy, including Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Pain Clinic and Acupuncture
  • Blood test service (Phlebotomy) - please note this service is available 8:30am to 1:45pm Monday to Friday
  • Mental Health Services, including Psychological Therapies
  • Health Visitors and Midwives
  • Speech and Language
  • Chronic Pain

The Centre has a café area run by volunteers recruited by the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital, who use their profits to buy facilities for the NHS on the Island.

Karen Baker, Chief Executive of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to be able to significantly improve the environment in which patients will be seen. But this is also a fantastic opportunity to change and modernise the way we offer healthcare services, in a better way for the people of Ryde. This is a great opportunity to transform care for people, families and carers and we’re looking forward to developing the use of the building to provide other services.”

Among the many benefits are parking facilities for patients; a total of 15 car parking spaces will be available, which includes 2 disabled spaces, the majority of which are dedicated to patient-only parking. The Trust has also worked closely with bus company, Southern Vectis, which has re-routed its Number 37 service to ensure it serves the new Pellhurst Road centre.
