Speech Therapy

The Speech and Language Therapy service in the IW NHS provides support to people of all ages living on the Isle of Wight, and to non-residents who may need help when they are visiting the Island.

The Paediatric service is specifically set up to meet the needs of children and young people. We provide assessment, advice, training and therapy for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) from 0-19; we support their families and those who work with them. We also provide a service for children with eating and drinking difficulties.

The Adult Learning Disability service is provided for people with a learning disability, following transition from special education into adult life. The Speech and Language Therapist provides assessment, advice, treatment and therapy for adults (16+) who present with swallowing and/or communication difficulties.
