Isle of Wight NHS Trust was successful in the tender for adult and young peoples’ integrated drug and alcohol recovery services across the Island.   The contract, which started in October 2014, brings together the three services previously provided by the Trust, Cranstoun and Isle of Wight Council (Get Sorted) together.

We have a telephone helpline and e-mail addresses which are specifically available to respond to all queries:

Our new integrated Drug and Alcohol Services offer assessment and recovery focused treatment for people who misuse drugs and alcohol. In addition, we also provide support for families and carers of drug and alcohol misusers. If you have a drug dependency, you will be entitled to assessment for detoxification and residential rehabilitation.

Referral into the service can be made by any person, professional or service, we can be contacted on 01983 526654.

August 2018: The Island Recovery Integrated Service (IRIS) has temporarily stopped accepting new referrals into the Alcohol Treatment service.   As an organisation we are working very closely with the commissioners of the service and looking to seek external support in order to re-open the treatment pathway as soon as possible.  We do apologise for the inconvenience caused by this temporary suspension of the service. IRIS are  working with colleagues including the Single Point of Access team to provide first line support for clients in a crisis.  We are recommending to those that think they need the service to seek advice from their GP.

Drugs

Our services will work with you to achieve your goals in treatment by offering recovery focussed treatment which includes: Substitute prescribing for primary heroin users (who may also use other drugs including alcohol), drug detoxification (subject to assessment), one to one and group support. Advice and information is also available alongside needle exchange, safer injecting practices, acupuncture, hepatitis c and HIV testing and hepatitis b vaccination.

Residential Detoxification and Rehabilitation

We assess individuals for this service. People who meet criteria for detox and rehab are those who have a primary crack or heroin dependency only.
