I am Clare-Louise, the Orthopaedic Nurse Specialist at St Mary’s Hospital. I wish to extend a warm welcome and invite you watch the videos put together by the healthcare professionals who will be looking after you.
The videos are informal and provide information to support your upcoming admission to hospital and your discharge home. They are designed to provide you and your carers with information regarding the process involved in your admission to hospital, what will happen during your stay and how to ensure you and your home are ready for discharge.

Dr Kaminski, Consultant Anaesthetist, helps put your mind at ease about anaesthesia and pain relief during your stay.
Billie, our Physiotherapy Assistant discusses your exercise programme and getting around safely.
Aisha, one of our Occupational Therapy talks about getting your home ready for discharge, equipment you may need to help you during your recovery.

In addition to the videos there is also an information sheet than can be printed or downloaded, that covers post discharge information relating to your surgical wound management and who to call if you have any concerns.
