Spring 2026 COVID-19 vaccinations

Levels of protection may decline over time and COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. Booster doses are offered to help you maintain strong protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to the hospital if you catch COVID-19.

Eligibility for a COVID-19 vaccination

The following people will be offered a COVID-19 vaccine this spring:

  • adults aged 75 years and over*
  • residents in a care home for older adults
  • individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in COVID-19: the green book chapter (see tables 3 and 4).

If you are turning 75 years of age by the end of the campaign period (30 June 2026), you do not have to wait for your birthday.

You should be offered an appointment by your GP between 13 April and 30 June 2026, with those at highest risk being called in first. You will be invited to have your booster around 6 months from your last dose, but you can have it as soon as 3 months.
