The Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity is inviting people of all ages to lace up their trainers and take part in its Fancy Dress 3K Fun Run this summer as part of the inaugural Wight Games Festival, which is raising funds for three local charities. The festival is supporting Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity, Mountbatten Isle of Wight, and Independent Arts.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity supports projects, equipment and initiatives that enhance care and improve the experience of patients, visitors, and staff across the Trust.

Taking place at 10am on Sunday 26 July at Ryde School, the fun run is one of more than 50 events included in the festival programme. Entry costs £5 per person, with fancy dress encouraged and prizes on offer for the best costumes.

Mike Christie, founder of the Wight Games Festival, said: "It's about rethinking what we see as a sport, making the festival fully accessible, bringing people together and raising money for three extremely important local charities that do amazing work on our Island.

"The festival celebrates participation rather than competition, giving people the opportunity to try something new, have fun and connect with others."

The festival features a wide range of activities taking place across the Island, from sailing, running and tennis to chess, board games and family-friendly challenges, celebrating participation, wellbeing and community spirit.
