Resident doctors across England are taking industrial action from 7am on Monday 15 June until 6.59am on Friday 19 June. During this period, we have robust plans in place to maintain safe, high-quality care for our patients.

NHS services remain open and urgent and emergency care services are operating as normal. It is important that you continue to seek urgent care when you need it. If you experience a serious or life-threatening condition, please attend our Emergency Department or call 999 as you would usually.

However, some disruption to routine services is expected. We are working hard to preserve as many planned appointments and procedures as possible, but a small number may need to be postponed. If your care is affected, we will contact you directly. There is no need to contact us unless you have been advised to do so.

Patient safety is our absolute priority. Careful planning has taken place to ensure safe staffing levels are maintained and essential services continue throughout the period of industrial action.

How you can help us:

  • Please use NHS services appropriately and keep our Emergency Department free for those who need life-saving care.
  • If your need is not urgent, please consider using NHS 111 online or calling 111 for advice.
  • Support is also available through community pharmacies, GP practices and other local healthcare services where appropriate.
  • Unless we contact you, please continue to attend your appointment as planned.

Please continue to treat all our staff with respect and thank you for your support.
