Throughout October and November, you will be able to visit a community venue near you for a general health and wellbeing check.

In partnership with our local GP practices, the Vaccination Centre at St Mary’s Hospital is inviting the island community to drop in to a local health and wellbeing clinic for free advice and support about your health and wellbeing.

At each clinic, you can have your blood pressure checked, get information and guidance on healthy lifestyle choices including weight management support, stopping smoking, diabetes, stress management and much more.

If eligible, receive your flu vaccination and/or COVID vaccination if you have not yet had it.

Sue Lightfoot, Clinical Lead at St Mary’s Vaccination Centre said “These local clinics mean you don’t have to travel far to get trusted advice and support. Coming along may also help catch small issues early before they become a serious problem. If you are eligible, having the flu and COVID vaccination can help protect you against becoming seriously unwell this winter.

If you are aged 65 or over, in a clinical risk group or have close contact with someone with a weakened immune system, you can have a flu vaccination.

If you are 75 or older or have severe immunosuppression, you can have your winter COVID vaccination dose.

Our experienced nurses will be there to talk through any concerns and connect you to sources of support.

“There is no need to book, just come along and see us at any of the health and wellbeing clinics and meet our friendly team who are here to help you stay well this winter."
