Island residents are invited to take a step towards better health this January by attending a free Health and Wellbeing Clinic at a community venue near them.

Delivered in partnership with local GP practices, the Vaccination Centre at St Mary’s Hospital is hosting a series of free health and wellbeing clinics for the island community.

At each clinic, you can have a mini health check and access expert advice on a wide range of topics, including weight management, stopping smoking, diabetes, stress management, and more. The team can also refer you onwards for Tier Two weight management and smoking cessation services. If you’re eligible, you can also receive your flu and/or COVID vaccination if you haven’t already had it.

Sue Lightfoot, Clinical Lead at St Mary’s Vaccination Centre, said:
"These local clinics mean you don’t have to travel far to get trusted advice and support. Attending could also help catch small issues early, before they become more serious. If you are eligible, receiving your flu and COVID vaccinations can help protect you against becoming seriously unwell this winter."

Flu vaccinations are available for those aged 65 and over, in a clinical risk group, or who have close contact with someone with a weakened immune system. The winter COVID vaccination dose is available for people aged 75 and over, or those with severe immunosuppression.

Experienced nurses will be on hand to answer questions, provide guidance, and connect you with additional support where needed.

No appointment is necessary, simply drop in and meet our friendly team, ready to help you stay healthy and well this winter.
